Mars Stand Redevelopment
About the Project
As a premium gateway, the links have floor to ceiling windows, offering passengers a panoramic view across the apron to the Southern Alps.
The MARS Airbridge project involved the reconfiguration of gates 30 and 31 from single use stands to dual access premium gateways, allowing passengers on Airbus A380s and Boeing Dreamliners to board and disembark.

The Mars Airbridge project was undertaken in an operational, security-critical environment. To reduce security risks and ensure foreign objects didn’t make their way into airside environments, the bridge units were constructed off site in a nearby hangar, and then transported across the apron for installation.
