Starship Children’s Hospital, Ward Refurbishment

About the Project

This project for the Auckland District Health Board at Starship Children’s Hospital involved refurbishment of the level 5 children’s ward, level 3 outpatients, including office, and the level 1 Cardiac Catheterisation (Cath Lab) upgrade.

Working within a 24/7 operational facility, with live wards above and below, the main level 5 works involved high levels of communication, and a key focus on the health and safety of all those involved.

The team worked around the clock, seven days a week in the lead up to deliver the first stage of handover. From completion of works, it was only three days before the first children were occupying beds in the refurbished wards.
