About the Project
Leighs Construction has successfully delivered a number of new and refurbished fire stations in partnership with the New Zealand Fire Service.
The newly built Wigram Fire Station is a high standard commercial building, featuring specialist operational facilities on the ground floor and staff amenities on the upper floor.

The 1,170 m² facility includes four appliance bays, each with specialist roller door exits and operational decontamination wash and storage areas. Transitional showers, changing areas and PPE storage spaces are adjacent to the bays, with training and meeting rooms also on this level.
On the upper floor there are 12 bedrooms with shared facilities, including kitchen, dining, social spaces and bathrooms. The secure yard behind the station provides storage and off-street staff car parking.
