The Burnham Project Anvil team delivered the Maintenance Support Facility within a live operational military environment.

Project Anvil involved the delivery of a Maintenance Support Facility within a live operational military camp. The project required close coordination with NZDF personnel and strict site protocols while maintaining strong health and safety systems throughout design and construction.

The award recognises safety performance across NZDF’s project and capability delivery programme and highlights the collaborative approach taken by NZDF and project partners during delivery.

In announcing the award, Steve Donkin, Programme Manager Consolidated Logistics Project at Defence Logistics Command, acknowledged the contribution of the Leighs team.

“This could not have been possible without the dedication and commitment to safety from the Leighs construction team.”

NZDF also recognised the contribution of Leighs’ Sara Longhurst, noting her dedication to safety and strong working relationships with NZDF safety teams.
