Leighs Construction has a long-standing working relationship with the site developer, were involved early in the process through a negotiated contract. Our Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) team started working with the design team in mid-2013, with the objective of contributing to the creation of a unified design that would fulfil diverse requirements, whilst being built within the client’s budget.

BNZ Centre

Designed to be highly accessible to the public, numerous laneways connect the location to streets and adjacent sites. Built around a 1000m² landscaped courtyard, the space provides an attractive area away from easterly winds and traffic, with ample sun and shelter.

BNZ Centre

Design allowed for ground improvement solutions using Rammed Aggregate Piles (RAPs) and Tension Piles along with Fuseable Link K Braces. Sub-contractor design and build package contract agreements were put in place for façades, building maintenance and access systems.

This development, which includes offices and retail spaces, was handed over on time and on budget in March 2017.

BNZ Centre

The building houses part of the Christchurch Integrated Government Accommodation Programme (CIGA), as well as other commercial office, retail and hospitality tenants.
